2nd Rule Coffee is a luxury mobile coffee catering company serving weddings, corporate events, hospitals, universities, private events, and brand activations throughout New Jersey.

We’re looking for dependable, high-energy people who care deeply about hospitality, quality, human connection, and creating memorable experiences for others at their biggest life celebrations through the beautiful craft of coffee.

This role is ideal for someone who:

Every event is different. One day you may be serving espresso at a wedding, the next at a hospital appreciation event or corporate activation.

We’re constantly on the move, meeting new people, and delivering meaning through coffee.

Position Details

  • Part-time event-based position

  • 1099 contractor role

  • Starting pay: $20/hour + tips

  • Typical shift: ~7 hours

  • Average take-home per event: approximately $150–$200

  • Team members meet at our South Brunswick homebase at the beginning of each shift before traveling to events

  • Events take place throughout NJ

Availability Requirements

Applicants must consistently provide:

  • At least 2 weekdays of availability

  • At least 1 weekend day of availability

Reliability and consistency are extremely important to our team.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare espresso drinks (including latte art), and other beverages

  • Set up and break down mobile coffee bars

  • Load and unload equipment and supplies

  • Work weddings, corporate events, hospitals, and private parties

  • Interact directly with guests in a warm, professional, high-energy manner

  • Maintain clean and organized workstations

  • Represent the 2nd Rule Coffee brand with professionalism and positivity

Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 70+ lbs

  • Reliable transportation to South Brunswick

  • Strong communication and people skills

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure

  • Professional appearance and attitude

  • Dependable and punctual

  • Comfortable being on your feet for long shifts
